Terms of use: It must be understood by all visitors to this website: no allegation or inference of sexual impropriety has been published on this website at any time and there must be no inference taken of such from this website or of any detraction and none is intended and none will be permitted. (Phil Gibbons, Communications Officer for Clifton Diocese does not agree with this.) Rev. Tibor Szende (formerly Dom Szende O.S.B.) is supposed to be a Roman Catholic priest of Clifton Diocese (formerly of Plymouth Diocese) and he consistently remained ambiguous regarding the question of his sexual impropriety.

‘It is in accordance with their dignity that all men, because they are persons … are both impelled by their nature and bound by a moral obligation to seek the truth…’

from: Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 2467, reiterating the Papal Encyclical Dignitatis humanae 2 § 2

Rev Szende had promised to write, explaining his actions and inactions.

He repeated that promise, in the church of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Cheddar, on 29th December 2013, the Feast of the Holy Family,.

For some reason, he did not keep his promise.

Phil Gibbons, Clifton Diocesan Communications Officer, has received advance notification of publications on this site and has not identified any errors or inaccuracies or indeed any reason why it may not be published

Why Tibor Szende chose for Cheddar to use an almost identical website address name to this one, which has been privately owned since its inception (and the name is not specific his former parish, like OLEM_Burnham.org or StDunstansKeynsham.org), for his parish website, is unclear, but as a result he has apparently caused much confusion, for which Tibor has not apologised. If any parishioners object to this, they may assist by addressing their concerns to Bishop Declan of Clifton (address available from the links page, ) with a request that Tibor write his long overdue replies, as he has repeatedly promised but so far failed to do and publish his apologies for his appalling and sacrilegious behaviour.

The sooner he honours his promises, provides credible accounts and apologises for his appalling behaviour, the better for the church, the parishes and for all concerned. Tibor was asked quietly and politely and privately and had the option and ample opportunity to avoid publicity, but unfortunately for some reason he preferred another stance.

Before the priest approaches an altar he should put aside his prayers until he has first reconciled with his brother.

Why does Tibor Szende delay in keeping his freely given promises? Why does he not seek to be reconciled? Is he so unkind, hard-hearted and stubborn? Does he not care at all for the parishioners of Cheddar? Is he refusing to honour the promises that he made, in Church, to a fellow Christian, merely for worldly so-called “legal reasons”?  Surely he must realise how much pain and distress he is causing to so many and how much damage to the church he is causing by his unnecessary continued delay and refusal to be reconciled?

Many of his former parishioners find all this disgusting.

Please make your own mind up about Rev Szende’s behaviour, but do not judge Tibor the person, even if he may have taken advantage of his position as a Catholic priest and of his secretary. He is human like the rest of us and we are all sinners.

Let us pray for him.
