Mission
Passing on and sharing the Good News with the un-baptised, changing what we do, to remove obstacles and become relevant to the needs of evangelisation and of the ordinary people outside
Feeding, funding, housing and supporting the poor, with no hope of anything in return
Maintaining the work of outreach and caring for strangers
Providing companionship, advice, food, clothes, counselling, support and encouragement for unbelievers
Allowing the Eucharist to bring Christ in us to those who do not know Him
Sincerely believing the teaching of Jesus and his church on love, forgiveness 70 x 7 times, right use of money, life issues, integrity, and the sanctity of the family and the holy indissolubility of marriage
Loving our unfamiliar neighbour instead of ourselves
Providing service for the un-gospelled, for love without reward
We believe in and plan for and make provision for and work towards a youthful, growing, brave, outward-looking church of tomorrow.
Our faith and efforts are appropriately rewarded
We are focussed and united by a bold and clear and concise statement of our purpose
We have committed leadership and an obvious determination to bring about the changes needed to achieve our clear goal to go out and spread the Good News.
We “go out” to seek the lost sheep, the one that has strayed the furthest.
We use our Sunday offering to spread the Gospel to those who do not know Jesus.
Holding onto The Faith and our comforting practices & services and preserving what we do, however unattractive or unwelcoming or irrelevant to the needs of evangelisation and of the ordinary people outside
Feeding, funding, housing and supporting the priest, in the hope of holding onto comfortable prestige and privileges
Maintaining the buildings and caring for ourselves
Providing socials and entertainment and parties and comfort and congratulations for ourselves
Receiving the Eucharist to make us feel good in ourselves
Paying lip-service to Christian morality, while following the world’s views on hatred, vengeance, embezzlement & greed, life issues, deception, and the secular misinterpretation of marriage
Loving our neighbour as long as it’s our familiar selves
Providing services for ourselves to maintain the collection, the priest and our old ways
We believe in and plan for and make provision for and work towards an ageing, shrinking, defensive, inward-looking church of yesterday.
Our faith and efforts are appropriately rewarded
We each pursue our own covert aims, which we are ashamed to admit or to put into words
Our efforts are not lead, or even concerted. They are tolerated as long as they do not upset the status quo. We have no statement of a goal beyond ourselves.
We are satisfied with staying in the pen of the ninety-nine sheep.
We use our Sunday offering to improve our own and the priest’s comfort.
Quote 2:
“Nor must we be satisfied with staying in the pen of the ninety-nine sheep if we want to follow him and to remain with him, we too must “go out” with him to seek the lost sheep, the one that has strayed the furthest.” Pope Francis, St Peter’s Square, 27th March 2013

“The Church is the only society that exists for the benefit of those who are not its members.”
William Temple
Quote 4:
Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission
1270 "Reborn as sons of God, [the baptized] must profess before men the faith they have received from God through the Church" and participate in the apostolic and missionary activity of the People of God.
Catechism of the Catholic Church
Quote 5:
Through Baptism, each of us becomes "missionary disciples, called to bring the Gospel to the world. Each of the baptized, whatever their role in the Church or the educational level of their faith, is an active agent of evangelization.
All of us are disciples and missionaries."
Pope Francis
