Jesus gave many illustrations on what the Kingdom of Heaven is like.
In the one we heard today he describes God the Father as a vineyard owner whose business practices are generous to the point of being an eccentric, even stupid.
In this way he tells us to count on the love of God expressed in such great generosity at the end of our day, and to make an effort to imitate him event at the risk of some people labelling us eccentric or stupid.
One example that comes to my mind is connected with driving a car.
When we are travelling on a main road and people in other cars are hoping to join our flow or cross that road, usually only about one in ten cars will slow down and give way.
A little generosity shown by those of us who are in possession of the main road will help all traffic flow better.

Today is Home Mission Sunday.
We are keeping the church door open for prayer apart of our home mission.

Today I commend to your attention an important issue that has to do with the life and love: sanctity of life.
The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill was postponed in the spring and the debate will resume in Parliament in October. We can all do our little bit to influence the decision-making.
Alan Taylor will give us a brief reminder of what it is about and what we can do.

(A presentation by Alan Taylor was given)
